 Mountain biking can be dangerous. There are a variety of obstacles on the trails that must be negotiated. If you are not able to ride a particular section of trail safely, without endangering yourself or others, get off and walk your bike. Weather can impact the conditions of the trails and make them difficult and hazardous to use. Be alert for wind blown debris on the trails. ? October 1 through January 15 is the hunting season. All hours of operation must be strictly adhered to during this period for your safety.

 Any houses that you see are private property. Please respect and stay away. Driveways going House’s are private. Please do not use it for any reason.

 The Compost Site is a restricted area. Heavy farm machinery used in this area can cause personal injury and or property damage while in operation. Never go near or attempt to get on any of the equipment – ever!

 The Homestead has numerous barbed wire fence lines left over from former cattle operations. These fences have been removed where trails cross them. Stay on the trails to avoid encountering any fences.

 Thunderstorms are common during the summer months. If you are caught in a storm, stay clear of high ground, large trees and your bicycle.

 All trail use is at your own risk. You are responsible for your own actions while using the parking area and trails of The Happy Homestead. Assumption of Risk

 All trails of The Happy Homestead were designed, constructed and are maintained by Appalachian Explorers Mountain Bike Association who is solely responsible for them. Please contact trailboss@happyhomestead.org with any comments, questions or concerns.
